Bookings, quotes, a question about a size, or whether the thing in the shed is worth saving. It all lands in the same place and is answered in order.
Tell us the make, roughly how old it is, and what it is doing that it should not. If you can, send a photograph of the part and one of the whole bicycle. For a service, say which days you can be without it. Quotes given by message are honoured when the bicycle arrives, unless we find something we could not see in the picture, and then we telephone.

- Early drop-offFrom 08:30 on weekdays. Leave it against the far wall with your name and number on one of the tags by the door.
- Wednesday evening, open bench18:30 to 21:00. Our tools, your bicycle, our advice if you want it. No charge and no booking; there is room for about six people.
- Saturday afternoonNo workshop work after midday. We close at three and rebuild the shop floor for the week.
- First week of JanuaryClosed completely. Anything in for service before Christmas is finished and back with you before we shut.
Closed Sunday and Monday, both of them, because a workshop that never stops makes mistakes. Messages sent over the weekend are answered on Tuesday morning.

The lane is one-way from the north end and cobbled, which is a small joke at the expense of everybody who arrives on 25mm tyres.

Small things worth knowing before you come
Do I need to book the workshop?
For a service, yes; the book runs about three days ahead. For a puncture, an adjustment or an opinion, no. Turn up.
How quickly will you answer a message?
The same working day, usually by the evening. If it is urgent and the bicycle is your way of getting to work, say so in the first line and it goes to the top.
Can I send a photograph rather than write it out?
Please do, and a short message alongside it works too. A picture of the worn part answers more than a paragraph, and we can usually quote from it.
Is there somewhere to leave the bicycle if you are shut?
No, and we would not ask you to. Bring it at half past eight the next morning instead; someone is always here before the door opens.
Can you collect it?
Within the town, yes, for a flat fee of 00, and free on any job over 00. Ask when you book.
Wednesday evening the bench is yours
Half past six until nine, our tools and our advice, no charge and nothing to book. Come and do your own cables badly and we will show you how to do them well.
